
Incentives for Consumers
- Consumers may be eligible for a $150 rebate towards a whole-house energy evaluation* for the first 1,000 homes participating in KY Home Performance (KHP), plus a free whole-house quality assurance evaluation. Quality assurance evaluations must be performed by a participating KY Home Performance Building Performance Institute building analyst. Quality assurance evaluations will be provided by a third-party, independent, quality assurance provider.
- Consumers may be eligible for special rebates of up to $2,000 for the installation of approved energy-efficient measures made to single-family residences participating in KY Home Performance. Homeowners may receive a one dollar rebate for every four dollars of personal investment of qualified improvements.
- Consumers may be eligible to apply for a below-market unsecured loan in lieu of rebates for the installation of approved energy-efficient measures made to single-family residences participating in KHP. For homeowners who may not have the up-front funds for energy-efficient measures, KHP can provide a low interest loan. For a limited time KHP is offering a special 3.99 percent promotional rate for the first 100 KHP loans. Loan terms cannot exceed ten years of the life of the energy efficiency equipment installed. Minimum credit score of 640, terms and other conditions apply.

- Consumers may also qualify for additional rebates for qualifying improvements from participating utility providers as well as available state and federal tax credits.
What Improvements Qualify
Program Minimum Standards
- Air sealing of the home and ducts is performed, and
- If current ceiling insulation does not meet R-19, installed ceiling insulation must achieve R-38 or better*, and
- If current floor insulation does not meet R-11, installed floor insulation must achieve R-19 or better*

- Lighting
- Replacement of non-IC-rated recessed “can” lights with ENERGY STAR® rated units that are installed and insulated to manufacturer specifications.
Variances
- Items related to or precursors of energy-efficiency improvements, such as electrical work that needs to be brought into compliance in order to install an HVAC system.
- Items related to indoor air quality, such as humidification or de-humidification.

KHP projects will be eligible for program incentives if at least 85 percent of work performed is in the categories listed here. Improvements in the remaining 15 percent may include (all must be approved by KHP):
